Hey, I'm Abrar

I build agentic systems, like this Autonomous Codebase Auditor and Refactoring Agent that I call Sentinel.

I also build full-stack web applications like CurioKids, which is a gamified educational mobile app that turns early learning into interactive play, with parent and child dashboards, mini-games for math and literacy, and an AI chatbot companion.

Another fun team project I did as part of an academic course is this Daily Planner, which has a fancy theme with an even fancier name (The Existential Choreography Planner).

I participate in hackathons (mostly for the food and the vibes). I (and my teammates) once participated in a DevOps hackathon and ended up being the champion. We had to build a Fault Tolerant Microservice and deploy it. We became runner-up in another hackathon where we had to build a offline-capable Telehealth Platform.

I recently participated in my first Kaggle Datathon, where we trained an ensamble of YOLO models for vehicle detection and classification. We were ranked in the top-50 in the leaderboard.

I love experimenting and tinkering with things, like building this Multi-threaded PDF Compressor in Golang to see how changing the number of concurrent workers impacts compression time.

I haven't built much CLI tools, but one I enjoyed building was Grít, a logging tool for developers. Think of it like Git, but instead of tracking what changed, it tracks the developers thoughts behind changing that code.

I am currently diving deep into how software works under the hood. I am doing the projects on nand2tetris and my next plan is to build an interpreter from scratch. I am also working on a research paper about reasoning in llms.

I enjoy reading. Two books I absolutely recommend are The Alchemist (Paulo Coelho) and Siddhartha (Hermann Hesse). When it comes to detective/mystery, my favourites are Feluda (Satyajit Roy) and Sherlock Holmes (Sir Arthur Conan Doyle).

I am an undergraduate and will graduate in late 2027. I'll be posting write-ups on my articles page as I start writing.
